Dr Yves Clouatre, MD, LMCC, CSPQ, FRCPC, ABIM, MHA

Dr Yves Clouatre graduated in 1979 from the University of Montreal Medical School, also obtaining LMCC (Licentiate of Medical Council of Canada). Following several years of emergency room practice in a Quebec remote area, and also in a Montreal busy tertiary hospital, in 1998 he received his specialization in Internal Medicine as well as Nephrology. The same year, he passed the CSPQ, and FRCPC (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Canada) exam. After working for nearly 3 years as a Chief Nephrologist in a teaching hospital affiliated with University Laval (Quebec), he moved to BC in 2001.

In 2002, he received certification as a Diplomat in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). In 2008, he graduated with a Master of Health Administration (MHA) from UBC Vancouver. At the end of that same year, he pursued a 3 months training in Intensive Care Nephrology at Mc Gill University in Montreal.

After several years as a staff nephrologist, and then Chief of Nephrology at Penticton Regional Hospital, in 2009 he decided to become a part time Clinical Instructor in Medicine at his Alma Mater (University of Montreal Medicine Hospital), as well as collaborating to Mc Gill Medicine Hospital. In 2011, he became certified as a Diplomat in Nephrology from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

In 2015, he obtained a Certificate from the Budapest Nephrology School (Hungary). From 2017 until now, he obtained several certificates from the South American Society of Nephrology and Hypertension, SLANH (Sociedad Latinoamericana de nefrologia e hipertension).

Dr Yves Clouatre collaborated as a member of the Board of the French Society of Nephrology (France) from 2004 up to 2014. He has also been a member of the Board of the Canadian Society of Nephrology from 2008 until 2012. He has been a member of the American as well as the Canadian Society of Nephrology, and the American College of Physicians. He is also a member of the European Renal Association (ERA-EDTA).

He has kept an active clinical practice in Internal Medicine and Nephrology since 2005.
